The Spring Festival Is Right Around The Corner

The spring season is known as '春' (reads as chūn) in Mandarin, where Chinese all over the world will be celebrating the Spring Festival or known as Lunar Chinese New Year to many of us and sometimes abbreviated as CNY by blog writers. However, don't get confused with CNY the abbreviation for renminbi China Yuan RMB¥.

This year CNY falls on 14 of February coinciding with Valentine's Day where lovers would be going out playing Valentine and Julia proclaiming their love for each other or perhaps some, 'love can't be beaten!' (derived from the ancient St. Valentine's love story :)

Do also bear in mind that the origins of Valentine's Day, like the origins of love itself, are somewhat obscure, it's a combination of myth, history, destiny, chance and of cause, marketing. As a matter of fact, today's Valentine's Day has been hijacked by commercialism, where there will be a huge push by retailers for lovers to buy, buy and buy....

Or perhaps for some, it's S.A.D. (Single's Awareness Day) even SAD people do spend on Valentine's day to celebrate their SAD, whichever you are, draw you budget so that you don't overspend-lar!

Talking about budget, I've got myself four new pairs of Jeans, these four new pairs are going to last me for many years :P and of cause if I maintain the same size. Heh!

Everywhere around us now we'd see shops putting out CNY goodies, lanterns, gifts and all that in conjunction with Valentine's day and CNY festive season. Make sure you spend wisely ya?
