It was believed that if a black cat jump over the coffin, the corpse will be alive again. The Chinese believe the corpse gains a life from the cat's nine lives.... geeee! this is a bit spooky. Really, and it was reported it ever happen how the corpse sit up after a cat jumped over it, now this is getting even spookier.
This is 'Sibestar' (Sylvester) the way my 6yo nephew pronounced it, the black cat we befriended during our stay at Sanctuary guest house, it followed us wherever we went, rested in the room and watched me surfing the internet.

And why is there the proverbial saying curiosity kill the cat?
I like cats but not black cats. Sylvester however reminds me of Sylvester the black cat in Twitty Bird and Sylvester the Cat.
Remember Mel Blanc's character Twitty bird? The bird inability to enunciate certain letters, presumably due to having a beak instead of lips and its expression when it sees Sylvester the cat, Twitty will go, 'I tot I tsaw a puddy tat, I tit, I tit tsee a puddy tat'. (I thought I saw a pussycat, I did! I did see a pussycat) Do you remember that? hahaha! I thought it was cute. I used to tease some friends with this Twitty character when I see something funny around. Used to.
