I logged into my facebook early this week to find some facebookers sighing that a new week is beginning with Monday blues and wishing that it was Friday.
Well, Friday is finally here, everyone!
For long awaited people looking forward to euphoria Fridays night out and chilling with friends. Boost up your spirits!
It's Cheng Beng festival this weekend.
Cheng Beng or Qing Ming in Mandarin- the day to honour the departed ancestors and immediate family members as the concept of filial piety or obedience to one's elderly or ancestors is a very important concept in the Chinese culture.
The Catholic Christian Chinese however will have the similar occasion by visiting their family graves to tend any underbrush and weeds that has grown out of hand around the grave. Fresh flowers then will be placed on graves where burning of paper money and incense are not involved.

On my way to work this morning, I passed by where stalls selling fresh flowers can be seen by the road side and grocery stores put out their incense papers, joss sticks, paper money, paper cars, paper house with a paper maid inside and paper clothes selling to those who are practicing this tradition. These paper items are to be offered to the departed ancestors at the family graves during Cheng Beng.
